We aim to make the process of meeting people online a little easier and safer. Therefore we verify each new profile upon registration, encrypt all data, and actively block profiles with suspicious activity. Your actions also matter, so we made up a list of tips to provide you with an extra layer of security during your Kismia experience.
Meeting people online
- Never share your phone number or social network profiles with people you don’t know properly yet — users with bad intentions usually try to move the conversation to messengers, email, or phone right away.
- Never send money, even if the person claims to be in trouble. If someone asks you for money — let us know.
- Never share information that could be used to access your financial accounts and never share SMS verification codes.
- Never follow suspicious links that lead to unknown online resources.
- Think of a strong password, and always be careful when logging into your account from a public or shared computer.
IMPORTANT: We never send emails, SMS, or any other notifications asking for your username and password information. If you have fallen victim to a scam, make sure you report it by contacting us.
Meeting in person
- Get to know the other person before meeting in person: never agree to meet someone just after the first few messages.
- Meet for the first few times in populated public places, and avoid moving to a private location.
- Tell a friend or family member of your plans, including when and where you’re going to meet a new person. Have your cell phone charged and with you at all times.
- If something looks suspicious during the meeting — feel free to end it under any pretext.
